In November 2013, Dan Loeb, founder and CEO of Third Point, partnered with Elliott Management CEO Paul Singer on a new initiative dedicated to fighting for LGBT rights on an international scale. This initiative is run by the Human Rights Campaign, an LGBT advocacy group in Washington, D.C.
Daniel Loeb and Paul Singer – both strong supporters of marriage equality in the U.S. – have made significant financial commitments to the Human Rights Campaign international project to combat the victimization of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals around the world.
This new international LGBT rights initiative will train advocates outside of the United States and publicize ongoing discrimination in especially repressive countries. The initiative also intends to unveil prominent American religious figures who sponsor antigay campaigns abroad.
