Daniel S. Loeb
Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer
Daniel S. Loeb is CEO of Third Point LLC, founded in 1995. Daniel has been at the front lines of investing in equities, credit and venture capital for his entire career. He has served on numerous public company boards where he has driven substantial value to shareholders. Daniel graduated from Columbia University with an A.B. in economics, in 1983, endowed the Daniel S. Loeb Scholarship for undergraduate study there, and received the school’s John Jay Award for distinguished professional achievement. In October 2020, he was awarded the Alexander Hamilton Award for his philanthropic service by the Manhattan Institute.
Partner, Chief Operating Officer & Chief Legal Officer
Josh Targoff joined Third Point in 2008. Prior to joining Third Point, Mr. Targoff was the General Counsel of the Investment Banking Division of Jefferies & Co. Mr. Targoff spent seven years doing Mergers and Acquisitions transactional work at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP. Mr. Targoff graduated with a J.D. from Yale Law School and holds a B.A. from Brown University.
Partner & Head of Credit
Ian Wallace joined Third Point in 2009. Prior to joining Third Point, Mr. Wallace was the Managing Member of River Run Management, LLC, which he founded in 1999. River Run was a hedge fund focused on high yield and distressed investments and the firm shared office space with and partnered with Third Point on many successful distressed investments from 2000-2004. From 1989 to 1998, Mr. Wallace was a Managing Director with Oak Hill. Previously, Mr. Wallace was a Vice President in the High-Yield Research group at First Boston, and a staff accountant at Arthur Andersen & Co. Mr. Wallace graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A. in Business Administration.
Managing Director & Head of Structured Credit
Shalini Sriram is the Head of Structured Credit at Third Point and sits on the firm’s risk committee, overseeing a range of investments from residential and commercial mortgage backed securities to the intersection of consumer finance and technology. Prior to joining Third Point in 2017, Ms. Sriram invested in structured credit at Scoggin Capital. From 2006 to 2012, Ms. Sriram was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, and Head of ABS CDO and RMBS trading. From 2002 to 2006, Ms. Sriram was an associate at Bank of America Securities on a proprietary ABS trading desk where she first structured and then traded CDOs. Ms. Sriram received a B.A. in Economics cum laude in three years from Wellesley College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
Managing Partner, Third Point Ventures
Since June 2000, Mr. Schwartz has been Managing Partner of Third Point Ventures, the Menlo Park, California based venture capital arm of Third Point LLC, which is a registered investment adviser based in New York and the investment manager of the Third Point Funds. Mr. Schwartz is presently a director of NextSilicon, Sysdig, CipherTrace, Kentik, Kumu Networks, Aryaka, Upstart (Nasdaq:UPST), Precision Hawk, R2 Semiconductor, Rubicon Labs, SentinelOne, YellowBrick Data, Ushur, and Catalytic. Previously, for 23 years, Mr. Schwartz was the President of RF Associates North, a privately held communications semiconductor manufacturer’s representative firm. Mr. Schwartz holds a multi-discipline engineering degree from the University of California at Berkeley.
Chief Marketing Officer
Jenny Wood joined Third Point in 2019. Prior to joining Third Point, Jenny spent nine years as Chief Strategy Officer and Director of Marketing & Investor Relations at Senator Investment Group, an $8.0 billion event-driven hedge fund. As CSO, Jenny was responsible for business development, marketing and investor relations, as well as strategic planning. Prior to joining Senator, she spent six years as Head of US Marketing at Cantillon Capital Management, a long/short equity firm. Prior to Cantillon, Jenny worked in various mergers & acquisitions roles for firms such as IAC, Razorfish and Credit Suisse First Boston. She started her career as a commodity finance analyst at Brown Brothers Harriman. Jenny holds a B.A. in History from Dartmouth College.
Chief Communications Officer & Head of ESG Engagement
Elissa Doyle joined Third Point in 2007. She is responsible for internal and external communications, including public and private engagements with companies on governance and other matters. She also leads the firm’s ESG efforts. She has held numerous roles at Third Point, including Chief Marketing Officer and Head of Investor Relations. Before coming to Third Point, Ms. Doyle was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP, specializing in complex securities litigation. Prior to Skadden, she was a reporter for Newsweek and Bloomberg News. Ms. Doyle graduated with a J.D. from Harvard Law School and holds a B.A. cum laude from Princeton University.
